A zombie version of Little Red Riding Hood?
Sounds a hoot.

Vanitas is astounding.

Zombie Red... (Of course, in Glasgow, it's more like Zombie Blue...)

I have noticed that in US movies, the bad guys generally have British accents. Wonder why that might be... 8)

I hadn't noticed that. Maybe it's because we can make them bad guys and they don't take it personally. :)

I always presumed it was a hangover from that pesky trouble 250+ years ago. Glad to be reassured you are just taking advantage of the British notion of fairplay. 8)

And no, don't remember Zombie Red. Yipes! Wouldn't want to meet her at any time of day or night!

I'm obviously too new to have seen that before.
It is actually one I came across looking for 'Zombie Red Riding Hood'

Not convinced I really like it, but what the heck.

I posted the link to the chart two days after you joined the forum. So you were here; you just weren't paying attention to me yet. :)
The artwork is by Eran Fowler. I know macabre isn't everyone's cup of tea. That's one thing I really like about this group; even if we don't like someone's project, we still share each other's joy in the process of it.

I agree, Allyn. Even if a design itself isn't in my personal taste, I can still admire and appreciate the beauty and joy in each stitch.

Royally caught out... Is it too late to grovel? :D

Stupid question. The answer is always 'No'. The question should be 'Is it too late to grovel with any effect?'.

No groveling necessary. :) How could anyone be expected to absorb everything going on here after only two days? :) That's why I said you were here; you just weren't paying attention to me yet. It took a while to get all caught up and current. :)

You were kinda right, though. It seems like you've been here longer than it has been. I thought for sure that I posted that *way* after you joined. I was surprised to see that it was only a couple of days.

Oh! Oh! Look! look! Look! So close. This is the last "imagine this" update. For the next update, it will be complete and unrolled.

So....imagine this:

That is getting just so amazing. I do really look forward to seeing the completed project. Such a very unusual subject, but brilliantly done. I love the way you have blended it to make the colour graduations more even. It is an absolutely mind blowing task you took on, and to see it through to the end is producing a result that is simply beyond what most people can imagine is possible with needle painting.

I am blithering. Better stop before I degenerate into total incoherence. Just take it that I'm slightly impressed.

Regards

Richard.

I agree - it's so unusual for cross stitch - and beautifully stitched and a stunning piece.

I'm late to the party, but not too late to cheer you on through the finish line!

SQ has done a nice job of using blended threads to capture those many shades of brown, I can see how up close you wouldn't feel like you were only using brown as the individual threads are quite varied based on your description.

This is just so amazing to see!! I envy your ability to park your threads so well--I have nooooo idea how to do it with my own SQ project (just too much confetti for parking that I can tell!). Can't wait to see the final photo.

Thanks to all for the encouraging words. I am so ready to be done with this one.

No such thing as "too much confetti for parking." :) I couldn't imagine cross-countrying this. For most of the skull, book, watch and glass, I had to deal with 40 or so symbols per 10 x 10 square. The skull's nose was the worst. It had 50+ symbols in that 10 x 10 area. If I couldn't park it, I think I would have given up.
