So far I've only done a few days of stitching on this project, but it's coming along nicely.
Here's the first days work:
The second day the lower jaw and mouth was almost complete:
And the third day I did more on the upper half of the face. However stitching highlights on a white background was a bit unsatisfying so I took a of a bit of a break midway through and decided to switch to outlining of the face with the background colour:
Beautiful start!! I also love this painting and loved the book. I remember feeling iffy about the movie, but I can't remember why. I can tell I am going to love this project and am looking forward to your next update!

What a great start you have made on this fabulous design. It is such a timeless classic painting and your stitching is doing it proud.
Looking forward very much to the next update.

Despite the complexity of the design, you seem to be working quickly through this one so far. What an exemplary start. I can't wait to watch this one keep growing and growing and see how big it will be in the end.
The kit is from a Russian company, this is what their name is in cyrillic:
Don't ask me to pronounce it in Russian, but the company name translates to "Golden Fleece" in english. They seem to have a lot of really nice kits. I bought it from an ebay store called: needleworkfromrussia.
And here's an update with the last two days of progress on it (sorry, just more 'outlining')
Well, in case if somebody really is interested in how the company's name is pronounced, it's Zolotoe Rouno Here's their official store: http://www.rukodelie.ru/catalog/Nabory_ ... shivaniya/" target="_blank (in Russian with prices in roubles, divide by 60 for USD, by 100 for pounds)
Thanks for letting me know the pronunciation and giving a link to the Russian site.
I've done bit more outlining. The right side is done all the way to the edge. Once the outlining on the left side is done I'll go back to working on the face.
I'm looking forward to some of the other kits I've ordered arriving. The blues and yellows in starry night will help break up the monotony of stitching so much brown & flesh tone in this kit. My Garden of earthly delights kit should arrive in a few weeks too, I'm really looking forward to uploading a stitch-a-long of that one too!
Lovely progress! Looking forward to seeing your future projects too!

Nice update on this piece. I'm looking forward to keeping up on all your stitch-a-longs. I'm hoping you stitch 24 hours a day so that there will be lots of updates.
