That bursitis doesn't sound any nice! Take it easy and I hope you will get your shoulder back soon.seedreemer wrote:Very nice! I tend to overdo as well and have to keep switching my crafts around. I'm currently resting my bursitis afflicted shoulder by doing things besides crocheting or cross stitching.

Awww, thank you! I'm sure the local Framing Man will make it look even more awesome, when he selects the frame and such. He always surprises me. I mean I may stitch a picture and wonder "what kind of frame does he choose?", and I'm in awe every time.karen4bells wrote:What a wonderful finish!! Congrats!!

Re: Needlepoint
OK, ladies. I knitted an arm of a bear, and now it's time to return to my stitching. This project you will see here is "I'm sorry for your loss" kind of gift for a friend, who lost her husband last winter. She lives far, so I hope once the Framing Man has done what the Framing Man can do, the package will travel to the north safely.

Re: Needlepoint
Sorry guys, I've stolen this thread, but I must let you know about this. "The Lilacs" is a FO!
It made me struggle like crazy, but now it's all done! I already have something on my needles. It's an arm of a bear, an arm nr. 2. I can't wait to get that done, weighed and marked. Then I can attack on another important project.
I've already packed "The Lilacs", so that when the frosty weather calms down, I can take it and the LK to the local post office, from which they travel to the local Framing Man, who chooses the frame and frames the pictures. And then I must go to the local post office again, and that will be the last leg of their journey to their forever homes. Or that's how I've planned it. But the time will tell what happens.

Re: Needlepoint
Hi!
I know, I know. I steal this thread for all myself. But this is my current WIP. The picture isn't the best one, but I hope you can get even some sort of picture about what I have as my current WIP. I'm going to stitch it to a friend who lost first her FIL and then her grandmother back to back. That kind of situation isn't fair for anyone, and I want her to know I'm there for her.

Re: Needlepoint
That will be a lovely gift for your friend. I'm sure she will appreciate it and I'm also sure she knows you are there for her in this difficult time. It's so hard to lose one person you love but being hit by a double whammy is awful. 2 weeks after my DH died, my son's FIL died. Unexpected. My grandsons were especially hard hit. At the time (5 1/2 yrs ago) the 5 y.o. said he used to have a Grampa and a Pops and now he didn't have any. We were all in shock for a good while, so I know your friend needs as much comfort as you can give her.

Re: Needlepoint
I can't even imagine the pain you and your family have been through. Six months ago I myself lost a friend. She was old enough to be my grandma and very sick too, so it was to be expected, but there are still times, when some song or situation makes me think of her. I'm glad my friends understand. I asked from a doctor friend of mine, if a grief like this may take the ability to concentrate. She said yes. So I didn't wonder that. I still can't concentrate at times, but it has come back at least a bit. And needlework projects seem to calm me down.rcperryls wrote:It's so hard to lose one person you love but being hit by a double whammy is awful. 2 weeks after my DH died, my son's FIL died. I wish you all the best and strength. It's not easy to lose a loved one, especially, if it comes unexpected.

Re: Needlepoint
Hi again!
The LRR, that is, The Lonely Red Rose, has made some progress, but it's tiny. It's not worth showing yet. Lower white area has been stitched, same as one of the green leaves.

Re: Needlepoint
OK, now I can show you a bit what I've stitched. The lowest white part is done too, even you don't see it. If you see a little bit of the white on the side next to the black, that's how the bottom looks like too.

Re: Needlepoint
So sorry to hear about your friend's traumatic times & it is lovely that you are making this for her. She will be really delighted with it. I have a few to do along with a few long stitch projects but am busy with x-stitch at the moment. Look forward to seeing this when finished. Thanks for sharing
