This is beautiful! It will be treasured for a lifetime, so if it is finished a bit late, in my opinion, no biggie!

This one definitely needs the back-stitching to bring out the details. That weird looking mess on the right side is a thread with the needle pointing into the material, and the shadow of the thread.

:applesauce: :applesauce: This is going to be one of the prettiest Christmas stockings! And it will be perfect with the back stitching. I agree this is clearly a design that requires the back stitch. I think those are the times when back stitching is really fun because it brings out the details and makes a piece really pop!

I agree with Carole, it really is going to be beautiful---so tempting to make me want to hunt down the design to stitch for myself---hmmmmmmmmmm

Thanks.

I'm one of those people who actually loves doing back stitch. I leave it all until the end and enjoy watching the picture come to life.

Karen, the pattern is in Donna Kooler's second stocking collection book.

Thanks so much for the info---another item to put on my wish list---which is by far longer than I will ever be able to get to

You mean pictures of which patterns are in each book?

I have both here and will try to post pictures somewhere, unless I find a good link. Have to run right now to make crab salad then take my granddaughter to the pool.
