Yes that's exactly what I am going to do Mabel. I am doing just 2 at a time and not including any more until I have finished one. Well that's the plan anyway....

I don't see it as a problem. It's about enjoying the stitching, not how many finishes you can get, although a finish now and again is very nice. Your plan sounds very sensible though :)

I really only have two WIPs at the moment, but I may have one or two OAPs (old abandoned projects) lurking in a drawer.

As to how many are kitted up, I haven't counted but I think there are at least two dozen. Maybe more...

Are OAPs like UFOs then?

I suspect that in this context OAP's will never fly.

Ah, they are permanently UF are they? A useful term, I must remember it! (Although I hope to have very few of them, of course, but there have been one or two in the course of my stitching career...)

I've got 4 cross stitch WIPs, 2 embroideries; 4 knitting projects; 1 crochet; several sewing machine projects - clothes or patchwork and many, many kits, charts, yarn, fabric, waiting to be made. I definitely feel my stash exceeds life expectancy! But I also enjoy just looking through what I've got :D
WIP:
Punky Fairy
Bothy Thread Alphabet
Shoe Tree
Max's Moon
Small fairy
Some knitting and crochet

End 2016 finishes
Christmas Wreath embroidery
Knitted rag dolls
Green jumper

I always think of UFOs as being something that you're planning to finish at some point, maybe not too far away. OAPs are tucked at the back of a drawer so you don't see them and feel guilty for not wanting to stitch them

So far, I am a one wip at a time girl. I hope to stay that way, but I do have three projects kitted up and ready.

Someone said something about enjoying stitching. I enjoy mine, yes, but I dare to say I need sport program from TV or radio on my side. The program keeps me company when my eyes check where to put my needle.

Oh yes, I rarely stitch without the tv on or an audio book. Unless it's stupidly complex!!! Bit like turning the radio down when you are lost driving.....

Same here. I also turn down the radio when driving in bad weather. It doesn't change anything other than my perception, I guess.
