Celtic Christmas

Post by Doreen »

I am just starting Celtic Christmas by Lavender and Lace. I am finding working with 284Z (krenik) very difficult. I was recommended to use petite treasure braid do you use one thread or two like the cotton thread that used for the cross stitch.

With thanks

Hi Doreen, I usually use only 1 strand when working with Kreinik # 4 braid and it works easily. You still need to use shorter lengths and let the needle drop from time to time to untwist the thread but that is all I do differently.
Hope the above helps. :)

I also use one braid of Kreinik #4 Braid or the Petite Treasure Braid most often. Same advice as Sally to use shorter lengths. I also sometimes pair it with one strand of floss, depending on the project. I usually prefer a more subtle sparkle and it also makes the stitching a little easier.

I do the same as everyone else, had to drop and untwist a bit more being krenik thread, but well worth it in the end, it's a lovely design to stitch, a pic of mine is in the link below
