What beautiful colour scissors & such a fine point too & the added bonus of a holder :)

Love the hare among the harebells, so apt! Look forward to seeing this one stitched.

I had a package from a company (can't remember the name now... needle something-or-other. Not Nordic Needle) on Friday -- very beautiful crisp white 28 ct even weave, a large piece of it. I have absolutely no memory of ordering it. I mean, in the grand scheme of things you forget, this is a good one! But .... whoops. What's even worse is I don't need it, I have way too much fabric as it is. And the name of the company it came from isn't at all familiar.

I do have a new book coming soon, called The Cross Stitch Garden, designs by Kazuko Aoki. Beautiful flowers & other gardeny-type designs. It was $25 at Hobby Lobby but I found it (new!) on Amazon for $11. Can't wait.

Look what I got today in the mail. My old one seized up when I went to bind the edges of my evenweave for my new project. It comes with a NEEDLE THREADER. :whoop:

OH it's great. Have tried all the fancy stitches, the zig zag I did around the fabric is the best. My old one didn't do as good a job. The piece of paper under the foot hides the drop in bobbin. No more fiddling trying to get it in sideways. The needle threader is the bomb. It just pulls down, wrap the thread around the hook, push it to the right and voila, needle threaded, then it pops back up out of the way. There is a hidden storage compartment for all the feet and needles. Which also pulls out for sewing round things like sleeves (if you know what I mean--) Best $200 I spent.

It looks like a fantastic machine and, I agree with the others, not scary at all!

My latest goodies:

Image

2 geisha kits for my birthday as promised by DH when I ditched the dark blue one I tried to do in between the cottages. The left hand geisha I made several years ago as a gift & although I say it myself it did turn out a really lovely picture & I was tempted to keep it. Glad I didn't as the elderly lady I gave it to was very pleased. Got the other one half price on EBay so lucky there.

French scene was birthday gift from DB & SIL. I have not made one that shape before so will make a change & as it is so bright & colourful am looking forward to doing that sometime. What I especially like about it is that you can see 2 waitresses inside the café. Doesn't show up so well on here but very well detailed.

The heron I bought myself from sewandso. The Aida fabric is 18 count Confederate grey, the colour recommended. The one on the chart front is on done 14 count & I had thought of doing it on 16 count but when I looked at fabric prices I couldn't afford that size as well as chart & blending threads so opted for 18 count. Not seen one of Crossed Wing designs before & it gives you large chart pieces & I need to fit them together like jigsaw pieces. Also they have one chart of dragonfly for evenweave/linen & the 2nd for Aida dragonfly so very detailed. Looking forward to making that as it will be a challenge.
