How did you get into cross stitch?

Post by Greyhound Mum »

With me it was my Mother in Law, I'd seen some of hers and thought it looked nice and for her sins (She is en extremly patient lady) she was happy to show me how. She also taught me how to knit properly :)

We all have our unique stories, I think, and it's lovely to compare them! Have a look at the pinned topic "How did you start" where you can find lots of them!

Yup, that pinned thread is there. It's an interesting repository of stories, very few of us have exactly the same way of coming into the hobby. I for one have tried knitting and crochet. You have never seen such a klutz. I just cannot do it, same way as I can't turn with a wood lathe or take part in a racket sport (like Tennis, Cracket or Squish [Two Ronnies reference, not tripe writing errors]). I simply don't have good enough hand-eye co-ordination to learn how to do it.

I have taken the opportunity to zap the dead Photobucket image in my 2014 entry in the story thread and turn it into a CSF image.

Regards,

Richard.
