Your progress is remarkable.
My only further observation is that you must be utterly sick of doing the relatively un-interesting background! I know it's an integral part of the image, but the moon is not the main focus and it must be slightly galling to be spending so much time getting to the main focus.

It is a relief to see that the page index image and the stitched image are in reasonably close correlation (within the limitations of flash photography).

I hope you are pleased with it thus far.

Regards,

Richard

Utterly sick! But I was sick of doing the background on Vanitas, too, and I managed to survive. The moon has maybe a dozen symbols in the whole thing and the sky has four symbols tops, so it's monotonous, but goes fast.

C'mon Row 3!

Moon and sky, sky and moon...

I finished the row of pages and I'm ready to start row 3, which is where some of the fun will be. I took it outside to get the picture, but I'm still not happy. The sun washes out the subtle shading as much or more than the camera flash did. Oh well, y'all will have to bear with me until I get a bright day without direct sunlight to, hopefully, show the wonderful color variations. Viewing it in person, I am very pleased with the blending of colors.

I will admit it's hard to judge, but it's beginning to look like a pretty faithful representation of the image. I saw the three darker sky splodges (by the '2' of page two and to the right of the 6 of page 6) and started to worry until I saw the splodges on the chart page reference image. It is reassuring that such subtle features are reproduced.

It is looking good, I think, but is it good enough to satisfy your exacting requirements? I hope so, but you are a very tough customer..

Great progress, and how nice to come to a bit of the pattern where there is more happening :-) - although the shading and blending must have been both needing concentration, and fun to see develop!

As for your first comment, my kingdom (if I had one) for a camera that reproduces what we see! (several times I have photographed a meadow awash with the colour of wildflowers, only to find that to the camera it was mostly green...)

I certainly can see subtle shades in the picture as it is. It must be amazing, in "real" light. :applesauce: :applesauce:

This is amazing, so many subtle variations in the shading, it must look fabulous in real life.

I hope you are pleased with it Allyn, after reading what you decided to do.
