Not seen one of those before. I have done railroad way of stitching as on Scarlet Quince info pages to get neater stitches but it took longer so I don't do it very often. This should be a good asset.

That does look lethal Helene. I love the one I was given and thankfully it just sits on the table ready to use when needed. :whoop: :whoop: :whoop:

Great stash everyone, so many colourful kits to be done & love the handy gadgets.

Sorry not posted much - time seems to have slipped by.

I used to use one of those and nearly poked my eye out with it once, so do be careful. :D

I'd been thinking about getting a good floor lamp for a while as I now use my computer room to stitch in and it has no windows so no proper light. My friend Cheryl, who also stitches, pointed me in the direction of this lamp from Oypla as she has it and swears by it! I had some money left over from my birthday so decided to buy it and it arrived yesterday! It's fantastic, was easy to assemble and gives great light I'd highly recommend it and the flexible goose neck is very useful! https://oypla.com/home-furniture/home-o ... gL6JPD_BwE" target="_blank

It looks like a really good light Nicola and most essential when there is no natural light. I have a very good light too, but it just sits in the corner as I have plenty of light from south facing windows. I'm not sure I could stitch in a room without natural light and hope I never have to find out..

Ooooh Nicola that looks rather like my first lamp, you will find it a huge difference especially at night.

Now you might have more light to stitch all your Wrendales by

Now if only we could find something that would give us all more hours of stitchy time :thinks:

That looks super! I have one from IKEA with a daylight bulb in. It leans over the back of the sofa but my main lighting aid has a magnifier lens in it and that doesn't reflect in the TV screen and drive D/H mad!! :tizzy:

Hurray Mr Blissful arrived in my post box this morning. My first (and only) Wrendale design. Mr Blissful (as Garnet christened him) is officially called In the Poppy Field. :whoop: :whoop: :whoop:
I've propped it up where I can see it clearly all day long. :)

I'm so happy for you Sally, you will really enjoy stitching him, the charts are so clear if a little large , a fold and you're good to go.

If you stitch his face first he will be smiling up at you while you stitch the rest of him :D

Great idea to keep him out so you can see him until you can stitch him.

Enjoy!

Lovely that he is giving you double pleasure, Sally - looking at the kit, and then stitching him! (Triple pleasure, in fact, because after that you can frame him and look at him forever :-) )

Some more goldwork goodies - I just love the look of all the little glassine envelopes :-)
DH said the black rough purl and the black wire check looked the same to him, and could I tell the difference without seeing the label? Not easy trying to see through translucent but not transparent paper, but I managed

That should keep you busy for a while Mabel.

Thank you all for your comments about Blissful. I am enjoying seeing him early every morning and at night and want to start him NOW but I must get these important birthday gifts done first so I can relax and enjoy stitching Mr Blissful. Something to spur me on for sure.
