WOW :applesauce: :applesauce: :applesauce: :applesauce: :applesauce:

This is fantastic Paul, huge congratulations on the pesky backstitch, it really makes it pop.

:whoop: :whoop: :whoop:

It really makes it look three dimensional.

How many colours are there in this fabulous project?

Wonderful finish, Paul. :applesauce: :applesauce: :applesauce:

I love Tutankhamun's eyes and all the shadings.

Your Mum is so lucky. Have you decided yet how you are going to display it?

Well the idea in my head is in a frame with a mount but finished piece will sit in middle of mount with fabric edge on show which I plan to fray so it looks old and kinda like a Papyrus. That’s the idea I have anyway

Next one is well underway

I also need some help or advice.
The more I stitch on this the more I have issues getting tension right on floor stand. Middle and right are ok but left side is a bit slack. It’s distorting the fabric a bit. Any advice/tips?

Not sure what might be the issue with the tension, but my goodness you're flying with this one!

Dont worry about the tension, when you wash the work, pull it a bit to make it straighter and then do the rest of the trick with the iron. Only do it gently and gradually. If it is not 100% perfect even after that, the framers will make it straight. Do you stitch /////// and then in the opposite direction? Try to stitch in full crosses x at once. If there is a larger area with halfstitches, they may "pull" the fabric to one side too.

But your work looks so perfect! Happy stitching!

What a fantastic idea to get this project done for your mum. A real labour of love. It is stitching up nicely!

Wow, this is beautiful and you’re so fast. As for the tension issues, I wonder if the angle at which you’re sitting for the left side is different, thereby causing a slight difference in how you pull the floss through. Just a thought. (I have to add that I don’t see an issue in the pictures.)

First page done, sorry it’s not that interesting to look at. Backstitching as I go on this one. You might notice it’s the same as the King Tut one. Just different person in centre

:applesauce: :applesauce: :applesauce: A lovely update and what a good idea to b/s as you go. At least you know a bit about the areas you are stitching now.

One page to go! I don’t think it’s as impressive as King Tut one

Update time!

It’s starting to get tricky stitching on this now. I use a floor stand roll frame and as I roll it as there’s so much metallic it’s getting hocked onto other threads. I’ve had to do repair jobs on it. So I’m going to have to try and use a hoop or Q snap, no idea what but can’t use a roll frame.

Think it’s looking rather impressive and lovely colours too

The metallic might be a pain to work with but it really makes it very special.
