Squirrel's Quilting

Post by Squirrel »

As I will be doing a fair amount of quilting over the rest of this year and likely into next year I though I had better start a separate post for them.

As you no doubt have gathered the church I go to is very involved with the local community and so often get asked for food parcels, clothing, bedding etc. Hence the need for quilts, especially cot size of single bed size.

The first photo you has been posted here before and is just a simple patchwork one.

The one I finished earlier this morning is the first of 4 cot panels I bought on my recent trip to Melbourne. I just wish it was closer, however I know I will be down there again in February - eldest son will be 60 then so party time and shopping time too for sure.

Sorry the most recent one is so dark, the early sun was pouring in the windows so I set it on the floor and stood over it to block out as much sun as possible.
Thanks for looking.

Sally, both your quilts are fantastic, as always. :applesauce: And I even know one person (15 thousand kilometres from you) who would adopt the hedges if nobody wanted them. :D Very beautiful works and so neatly stitched.

Thank You all for your kind words and encouragement. I have decided I need to finish the last bits of Time for Tea before doing any more quilts- I have 3 other panel ones then fabric for at least 8 patchwork ones so it will keep me busy for a while I guess. Good "winter" sewing with a big quilt on ones lap :)

Agree on the smile those cuties deliver! Such lovely fabric and very well done! I admire quilters, it’s one craft I daren’t venture into because I wouldn’t have the patience for it. Thanks for sharing!

Thank You all for your encouragement. I have finally finished the other 3 panels in this group plus unearthed the wee jacket, beanies and bootees to go with the Angel quilt so the church has something on hand to the next person who needs help with a new baby. :)

The quilts are wonderful! I wish I would have had a quilt like that as a child. :D It will give lots of comfort to little ones in need.
