RSN Dragonfly - updated 15th Feb.

Post by luv2craft2 »

Doing this small kit in-between larger ones. A lot of quarter & three-quarter stitches. Am taking my time as I haven't done those for ages.

It does make for nice smooth outlines and you're getting on really well with them!

:applesauce: :applesauce: :applesauce: I love dragonflies(sometimes called mosquito hawks here in the Southern US) and this is a very beautiful one. You have already made lovely progress on this one.

You have made a fabulous start on a simply lovely design.

The fractionals do make such a difference don't they, if my Aida isn't behaving itself I sometimes use a sharps needle to pierce the fabric for the fractional stitch, it helped me at times, hope you don't mind me saying.

Thank you all. Also thank you Garnet for tip but I use glass headed pin to make hole in centre for easier stitching. Same difference as it were. I will always be glad of your tips & anyone else's as there are bound to be quite a few things I do not know. Any tips or wrinkles to aid easier stitching are welcome. Would appreciate more tips than wrinkles please, as I have enough wrinkles already, I had thought of putting I used a pin for easier stitching of the smaller stitch but as I have not posted very often thought maybe it was old hat & everyone had been doing it that way for years. also thought it may be misconstrued as me trying to show off!

Need to put this dragonfly aside for a while as it is intense stitching. Colours are not quite as shown here - under the dark blue it is pale yellow thread not off white. Reminds me of clotted cream, yummy :) Top right the yellow is a little brighter a pretty shade..

Such Detail!! Well done!

BTW liked the idea of a glass headed pin! :applesauce: I've used a sharp needle before and ended up pricking my finger!! With colourful result! :tantrum:
