Universal Monster Cross Stitch Room 2 complete

Post by works4me »

This was a stitch along by Witchy Stitcher in 2019 and I discovered it recently. My quilting mojo has disappeared and Mind If I Hang Out is just too daunting at the moment so I decided I needed to start yet another project. This is right up my alley and I can do it is small bits.
Fabric is 14 count Aida from Picture This Plus in Cauldron, which seems fairly appropriate.
Starting with Room 1 Phantom of the Opera, not the mansion outline.

What a fun project! There will be lots of little finishes, which makes it very satisfying to stitch, I think. :D

Room 1 Phantom of the Opera is complete, including the 2 rows of mansion surrounding it. I taped the mansion pattern together last night and will pick away at it.
Room 2 is directly below room 1 and is The Mummy. Lots of fun items in it.

The eerie Aida looks like it will work beautifully and I am enjoying the fast finishes to his project. Each room pattern even includes a bit of history about the monster. Fun, quick, AND educational. :)

Thanks everyone. This is a fun project and is keeping me entertained. I finished room 2, the Mummy, as well as the room 2 border and a bit of the mansion above room 1. The pattern for the Mummy calls for either french knots or beads for the mummy eyes. I have pulled beads for the mummy, the cat, and the centre of the flower in room 1. I am assuming that I shouldn't attach these beads until I will no longer be hooping those areas?

Room 3 is the Creature from the Black Lagoon. It is beside the Phantom block and I will stitch the room outline first plus a bit of the mansion above that room. I see lots of black in my near future. :)

Great progress! I would be very tempted to put the beads on when finishing a room, but if you are at all likely to have to put a hoop over it then you are absolutely right in waiting!

I think Shiny Beads would look better in this case than French Knots. And Yes!...wait until the end before stitching them on.

:applesauce: :applesauce: for 2nd Room! :D

I agree! What a great Mummy that is. I love his (her?) case and the spider hanging down from the ceiling gives it an extra eery feeling which is perfect!
Looking forward to your phantom next!
