Bright and beautiful card, which would brighten anyone' summer, Mabel.
Well done for your determination for sending it in time and for making sure that you chose the safe option, regarding the car journey.
A lot of stitching as a gift could come with it own story of delay, frogging, throwing accross the room and midnight oil burning but it makes it even more valuable, I think.

A quick little stitch which is not in my usual style at all but was very meaningful to me while I stitched it. The "rays" around the word Light are done in gold gel pen.

Thank you - i just wrote the words in pencil and then stitched them. I particularly like the way "world" came out, which is whipped backstitch - I will use that again for lettering!

Another design has elbowed its way to the front of the queue

This is "Hope". Not very much done yet, but there's a lot of unpicking and deciding behind that little bit of red

What rich colours in the Ottoman Tulip Mabel, I love it.

There is always Hope and it is a lovely way to remind ourselves of it too. I will make a wonderful gift for someone for sure. Agreat pair of updates for sure.

I did another design....

It's based on a Russian enamel napkin ring. More detail about the whole process on FoF.

This was the first draft with my first choice of colours:

Here it is transferred to a piece of linen:

With the new blue (Heathway Bluebell instead of Cornflower):

And a digital colour impression:
