I'm on a bit of a rainbow spree at the moment - here's a mini one I did for a friend who has health issues and has had to be very careful. This coming week she has some rather nasty treatment booked, and she is not looking forward to it! So I made this as an encouragement. It's mounted in a 3" flexihoop.

Two more rainbows finished - the first one I started, the largest of them all in silk and with the word Hope in couched silver passing (in a very complicated sequence to minimise plunging; writing the instructions afterwards was.... interesting), and the littlest, 4cm wide.

I like them both a lot. I can imagine writing the instructions being tricky for the passing thread...

Oh, should also say that on the Facebook site for the Glasgow branch of the Embroiderers' Guild, your snowman has made an appearance on the cover of Stitch magazine with a direct reference to the design. Mabel Figworthy's fame spreads!

Another rainbow finished - this is the smallest of the three full-sized versions, the one done in floche.

Fitting piece for our times, Mabel. How long did you work on that, do you think? Saying it's beautifully done is rather an understatement I do believe. :applesauce: :applesauce: :applesauce: :applesauce: :applesauce:

You just don't do regular stuff, do you? :camera:

It's difficult to say how long I work on anything, Sahari, as I generally just get time to stitch in the evenings and at weekends, and I tend to have more than one thing on the go. So in one sense, a project may take 18 month if you look at when it was started and finished, but in another sense it may have taken only, say, a week of actual stitching!

The only one I actually do know is the chunky little rainbow I did for my friend, which literally took me one evening :-). This floche one I will frame in a flexi-hoop today and take to another isolating friend. I have one more version of the rainbow to finish (started it last night) and then I can finish the chart pack and put it on the website, yay

Finished the flocher version in a flexi-hoop with a felt backing - a bit less smooth than I would have hoped, but then people will look mostly at the front :-)
Delivered to my friend this afternoon, she was very pleased with it.
