I will try to have some ‘finishes’ in between long projects to keep my motivation up lol thanks everyone 😊
That’s a good idea to have a stash of these ready to go!

Especially to build my confidence, I’m always scared to start the first stitch, is it in the centre, have I read the chart properly, oh my gosh the stitches look weird, and then suddenly it all starts coming together

The needle minder, is from Etsy, my first one!

The thank you card is from the same magazine I saw the koi fish chart - The world of cross stitching, September 2017, issue 258.

Finished this pincushion, but oh my I need some sewing lessons in future to put this together more neatly
But it will do for now. I’m sure I’ll look back on it and be amused by the way I made it
But it’s so cute I’m happy with it. I’ve stuffed it with wool🥰

Beautiful finishes there Wise Owl. It is a big help to do a few smalls when the larger projects get 'stuck'. :applesauce: :applesauce: :applesauce:

That is such a pretty pincushion, and finishing is an art in itself! I'm always struggling with finishing, even after all these years - I think I just don't have the knack, so a lot gets finished in hoops or cards :-)

I love those "smalls" too.
As for finishing I have a drawer which is getting full of either unfinished/unmounted pieces or some seriously wonky bits :tizzy:

Thank you everyone. I am seriously chuffed I’ve made that.
Your tips for having a smaller quick finish on the go definitely keeps me motivated.
I took the picture from a good angle  but it works fine, been sticking pins in it all day and it’s holding up.

I may make a matching scissor keep one day.....if I find a tassel in the same shade. And after I get some sewing tips or lessons 😂

Hoops and cards sound like the way to go 😆

What a beautiful pincushion and so beautifully stitched too.

Very well done indeed.

You can make your own tassels, there are plenty of instructions on youtube and on google. I made my own using a skein of DMC when I couldn't find a matching colour for my Art Nouveau bookmarks - hope this helps.

Oh that is a good idea! Yes that does help, and that way I can just order the same colour of thread needed for the tassel

Beautiful work.

I wonder what I did with my pin cushion. I designed it myself and really liked it. 🤷🏼‍♀️
