Hello, everyone, long time no see.
I am watching a video with Amy Meissner, one of my most favourite textile artist, and I just realised that she uses the back of old cross stitch pieces to make new work. The whole thing is very interesting to watch, but if you just want to see this part, it starts roughly at the 19th minute, and lasts about 3 minutes.

Agi!! How lovely to have you back with us.
I watched most of the video, and it's given me a lot to think about. I also have boxes of unused, but beautiful, linen that belonged to my grandmother. Sets of bridge cloths and napkins, in colours redolent of the 1950s, feature largely, but I'm sure some of it goes back to her marriage in 1920... I don't think I'd be brave enough to use it as a ground cloth for embroidery. Or at least I don't think I have the expertise to do the cloth justice if it was used in that way. Hmmmm...

Hi Agi ! I've had the back of my embroidery used for a Sunday School lesson but never as a ground for further embroidery . It's a thought though
