Help! Advice please

Post by wendywombat »

I have torn a favourite silk scarf. A clean vertical tear in a fine silk scarf.
I was talking to someone at a craft afternoon yesterday about how to repair. I know it won't be invisible, but she suggested after a simple stitching over the tear to disguise it with some surface stitching.

So what I'm asking is there some fine silk thread I can use? It has to be very fine.

A number of the yarn companies do fine "real silk" "from the silk moth, Like DeVere: https://www.devereyarns.co.uk/embroider ... k-42-c.asp

The 120 denier is pretty thin with only 6 strands, good colour range  .
