The birds have been given their Christmas morning breakfast, beyond my chart frame you can see the log fire is buring:

You can also see the area of the piece i have been working on:

I am enjoying this one :D . Like the other Gold collection items it is a mix of stitch types, numbers of strands in each stitch and a few mixed coloured strands stitch types so I will have to be on my toes.

Merry Christmas everyone :toast:

Thank you :)

Coming to the end of the Christmas weekend I thought I should give you another update on this piece:

I had been getting very concerned about how much edge is going to be left around the piece for mounting. I have just reached the far left hand edge and its a bit tight :thinks:

Oh Jo it's looking fantastic! I really hope you have enough edge left for framing :tizzy:

I'm always surprised how little 'extra' fabric is needed for mounting.
Maybe there's a conspiracy between designers and fabric suppliers to get us to buy more than we really need!! :thinks:

I agree! And it's hard to get passed that feeling that the piece of fabric isn't going to be quite big enough

Wow, look what you've done already! It's going to be beautiful.

Dimensions usually leaves a rather small border for framing, but you can always attach more fabric to the edges if needed when it's time for the framing. What I usually do is cut/tape pieces of paper together to match the size of the stitched piece and lay that on the fabric, centered, just to make sure there's enough room on all edges.
