Oh that's such a relief for you Mabel, I also have floaters, I was told it happens with age (accompanied by a shrug) (not mentioning mine )
Did I hear cake mentioned? Always welcome with a nice cuppa.

Re: 2022 St Cross Stitchers Clinic & Hospital
Not me this time, but my cuddly toy Haasje (him of the goldwork module, in Bruce's pouch ) - the pic shows him about to be safely packed up for his trip to Alice's Hospital for Poorly Bears and Dolls (and little hares). Odd feeling that he isn't in the house now and won't be for some weeks; he has always sat near my bed. But I hope they will keep him looking like my well-loved and cuddled Haasje while strengthening him as he is falling to bits rather...

Haasje deserves pampering! I hope he returns plump and fluffy.
Re: 2022 St Cross Stitchers Clinic & Hospital
Aww, poor Haasje does look rather in need of pampering. I'm sure they will take very good care of him, and return him to you all mended and strengthened for many years of love to come.
Have you seen the Teddy Bear ladies on BBC's The Repair Shop? They do the same kind of care and repair and are amazing in what they do.

Yes, they are lovely - and I did in fact apply when The Repair Shop were asking for people to participate, because Haasje has quite a good back story, but I never even got an acknowledgement that they had received my application. The one he is being sent to now was recommended to me by my sister-in-law.

I think Haasje will love the pampering and attention he will get.Though he will miss you, I'm sure that he understands why this is needed and will be so happy when he gets back home. Makes me think of finding a teddy bear rescue here to help my Teddy. He's 70 years old and in need of much attention.
Looking forward to photos of your renewed Haasje.

Serinde, are you and Mr. Serinde recovered from your bouts with the evil virus? Hope you are having no after effects. Everyone I know who has had Covid, and it’s way too many, seems to have had different experiences. Been keeping and that you both come through it well.

Yes, it can leave people quite drained and with long-lasting effects - here's hoping that you two bounce back quickly!

Re: 2022 St Cross Stitchers Clinic & Hospital
I'm much better, if still a little tired (but that could be the garden...). Mr S had it worse and is slower coming back from it, and now has a bacterial infection (unrelated). So I'm making him jelly (Jello) to keep his spirits up!
Re: 2022 St Cross Stitchers Clinic & Hospital
I'm glad you're better and hope the hubster recovers soon.

The recuperative properties of jelly have passed me by, but if it works for Mr S then go for it! Look after yourself too, recent research suggests that taking it easy while recovering is very important.

Glad to hear that you are recovering and wishing Mr S will also be well on the road to recovery. As my son often tells me when I'm recovering from anything "Don't overdo it". Not that that is something I do.

Re: 2022 St Cross Stitchers Clinic & Hospital
Are other halves allowed in? After a most successful Austin Seven Centenary week Mr Mabel has gone down with Covid, feeling very rough. He has taken to his bed which to those who know him is a sure sign that he is Not At All Well.

Re: 2022 St Cross Stitchers Clinic & Hospital
I am so sorry to hear your DH is ill. I'm sure we can find a place for him. Can't imagine we would ever turn anyone away from our door, especially someone who needed the special care our Hospital provides. Wishing Mr Mabel a quick recovery from the dreaded virus. I know how awful that is. Have you been able to get the medication which is supposed to ease symptoms if taken within 24 - 48 hours. A friend of mine said she thought it helped her a lot. Be careful that you don't come down with it yourself. Please keep us up to date about how he is doing.

Re: 2022 St Cross Stitchers Clinic & Hospital
I do hope he's all right in the end. The vaccinations seem to make it (for older people) merely 'horrible' these days.
All the best to him & hope you remain safe too.
Regards,
Richard

Re: 2022 St Cross Stitchers Clinic & Hospital
OF COURSE there's room for Mr M! I have booked a preliminary 5-day stay, but extra days can be arranged very easily as there is no pressure on beds in this clinic. Dr Tiny Cat will be doing rounds shortly.
But seriously, hope Mr M feels better soon. But do be prepared for yourself to come down with it -- this variant is really infectious. (Yes, you've been booked into the adjoining suite... just in case.)
