I think the reason I moved away from Aida cloth early in my cross stitching was that exact reason. Quarter stitches. Some of my earliest projects were Teresa Wentzler designs and it was nearly impossible. Wish I had been as clever. I just poked the needle through the middle of the fabric and prayed.

Thank you Ladies,

On this Christmas morning my Fall Fairy is moving forward:

In the centre of the piece it looks as if a tree trunk is appearing but this is actually part of the skirt of our Fairies dress. The thought of the skirt being like the trunk of a tree reminds me of in my Tai Chi classes we are taught about feeling grounded in the earth while our heads reach up to the heavens above. With that feeling in mind I can see why she would want to lift up and throw the autumn leaves around :D .
