Beautiful detail on the motorcycle. Congrats on the finish and delivery to the recipient.
The fall fairy is so bright and colorful, it must be fun to work on.

Thank you :)

It looks like this coming week is going to be dark, wet and possibly snowy so I thought I should show you were my Fall Fairy is before I crack on this week:

Image

I am currently working on the background which is all half stich using four strands of thread. So I have my layering tool to hand to help get the threads to lay flat  .

Challenging to get it to look so neat with four strands, great work!

Four strands?! That would be challenging, but you’re mastering the challenge. Dimensions kits always use varying amount of strands and it can be a pain but look at the results!!

More progress:

There seems to be bits and pieces of infill to go, just a lot of it  and then the backstitch

You are getting close to finishing! I bet there is a lot of backstitching which will make all the beautiful colors pop even more!

Thank you for your kind remarks on my stitching. I keep telling myself nearly there:

Image

I have noted that the amount of stitching being posted on the forum seems to have decreased of late :thinks: I wonder if it is a spring thing... The weather this coming week looks wet, wet and more wet so ideal stitching weather and I am hoping to finish this piece off (famous last words  )

I love these updates and will miss them when you have completed this beautiful piece.

I noticed it also. I'm one of those who hasn't been stitching, but I did get a message from my stitchy bug that he is on the way home. I think Spring may be part of the issue for some. I know my gardening friends have spent as much as possible in their gardens, now that Spring seems to actually here and not just teasing us.

Gardens do muscle in, demanding attention, at this time of year. I’m hoping that once I have handed the secretarial reins of the Guild to the next lucky person, I’ll have more time (even with the garden).

The best thing about getting close to finishing a piece is I get to look through my stash to decide on the next one to make :D Part of me says I should finish my Peacock first  But the other half is excited about what I have acquired.

I think I need to choose a quick and easy fun one to do in the Conservatory when I don't want to work under the magnifier and a more complicated one for doing in the early morning in my dining room. The temptation to do TW's Guardian is high, as is the Lady of Shallot. Having watched my friends loose their eye sight and their fine motor control as they reached their eighties I am aware that certain pieces need to be done while our bodies still allow us to make them

I've started the backstitch:

There is still a few gaps in the cross stitching towards the bottom  .

While often tedious, at the same time the back stitch really does make the design "pop" and come to life.
