if no one has started summer I actually had the idea for halloween too!
and for those that don't do halloween..we could do fall, thanksgiving or whatever.
soooo when i do the sign up sheet i'll ask those that don't want halloween to state it.
and the due date can be pushed i think as far as...mid Sept. that way there is a 2-3 week mailing time plus almost a whole month to display it!

I don't do Halloween or anything like that, but I'll happily do something for autumn (fall) or whatever.

Just a thought, but is it best to stick to subjects like summer, animals, birds, flowers etc, many people do not celebrate festive seasons, and even if they chose not to stitch for that season, they may receive one, I would feel uncomfortable sending a card with say, a Christmas theme, to someone that did not celebrate it, and it may get very complex and possibly a little intrusive to ask about peoples beliefs.

I think autumn would be an awesome theme. My favorite of the seasons! And you could do such pretty things. Of course, our friends in the other hemisphere would be celebrating spring, wouldn't they? :)

Yes, this would be the case for me. I would not want to stitch certain things and I would feel awkward having to say please can I not recieve them either, especially knowing all the hard work and thought that is put into these cards.
If though there was a time you really wanted to do a certain theme, such as Christmas, Halloween, Easter or whatever, I could just sit that round of the ATC out. :)

I think that staying away from the holidays is the best way to proceed on this. Although I enjoy all of the decorations and such I know others have very different beliefs.

If this is the case then I think that a seperate thread should be made for the stitchers that have an interesting in teh Holiday themes.

As for me I have to much stuff to do right now( both stitching and work) I will be setting out any new ATC's until after September.

let's just do a fall/autumn theme..pumpkins but not carved ones..etc etc.
fine by me..i'll set up a poll soon but I assume everyone will be ok w/ fall instead of a holiday

I agree with all of this, Autumn sounds great, and perhaps the next could be winter or snowmen as I think at least one of our members would like this.

I would be happy to do autumn.

We don't have Halloween here, although as an English teacher I always "celebrate" it in my classes. But 1st of November is the day in Hungary when we remember our deads, go to the cemetary - so it is rather sad.

Thanks Ladies.

I had a thought while reading through the posts about it being spring versus autumn in the different hemispheres....how about if we just say "October". For us here in the northeast of the US that could mean apples and falling leaves, pumpkins, etc. but in different parts of the world October could be flowers and blooming. Even in different parts of the US that means something different. Just a thought.
