Thank you for your kind comments. I am more motivated now to finish this and get started on the third one of this "triptych" I decided on. Bets are the next baby gets an alphabet.

CONGRATULATIONS! A new baby is the family is always good news
The mother and baby look wonderful, Carole. You have such patience working 1 over 1 with sepia colours. The result is superb, though.

Been a while since I updated as it has been slow going. Had to do a little bit of
and probably need to do more, but I can't figure out exactly which stitches so I'm leaving it and hope that y'all can't tell where it probably should be (if you can and think I need to, please tell me). But getting closer and closer and figure they will all be done by the time my newest nephew is a year old (I hope
)
Hope that my next update will be a finish here and starting the third part of this "triptych"
Thanks for looking.

Absolutely BEAUTIFUL! The shading is really amazing, Carole. It is worth every minute of stitching.
Regarding the "mistake". I can't see any.
Apparently, weavers in Turkey used to make at least one mistake in each of their pieces of work on purpose because only God is perfect

Hélène, I had heard that it was the Pennsylvania Dutch who always made sure there was at least one mistake in their stitching for the same reason. I wonder how many ethnic groups have been given or claimed that practice. It's one that makes a lot of sense to me.

I think it makes a great excuse for mistakes
All I can say is I've never had to put in a deliberate mistake to make sure my work isn't perfect - there's always plenty of unintended ones!

Thank you all for your comments and encouragement. I am making progress and getting closer to a finish but still have the hand to finish. Feels like it is very slow going though I'm not sure why. I do find the colors (or lack there of) monotonous while stitching, but love the way it looks and wouldn't change them if I could.
Thank you for looking.

It's truly beautiful. (Once this is finished, you can colour up to your heart's content!)

I agree...it's wonderful how detailed this is in so few shades.

The detail is lovely and the muted palette works really well. As others have said, just go mad on rainbows after this

Nearly a month. I got a new prescription for my glasses and discovered it was a lot easier to stitch for a bit longer when I can actually see what I'm doing
Still a bit more to go but getting closer. Then I will have the two that I've stitched framed (decided that the 3rd one will go with a different but similar Vervaco birth sampler whenever my new nephew gets a sibling. Should be a few years I hope).
Thank you for all your encouragement and feedback.
Thanks for looking.

I am glad that your new glasses make a difference and help you with your stitching.
