Thanks Wendy - but thereby hangs a tale... :-) Because while I was getting the elephant ready to finish as I originally intended, this happened:

Aaargh!

Looking back I'm happy with the alternative way it came out, but at the time I was not a happy bunny! (If you want the full horror, it's on my blog :-))

What a last minute nightmare that turned into a beautiful dream (sorry bout the lousy metaphor). If you hadn't told we would never have known that you had so many problems with the finishing. Can't tell from the card at all. Your niece must have been delighted with it!

Aaargh. Isn't it frustrating when things keep going wrong. It looks brilliant though, so at least it had a happy ending :)

Working on several things at the moment, but only one with a deadline (not a very quick one, fortunately :-)) - a set of 6 coasters my Mum asked for her birthday, which I'm hoping to take to her when I go for a few days' visit in July.

She should do - she picked the colours and design herself :-)!

One of the new projects I'm starting is a band sampler called Join the Band; I couldn't quite make up my mind as to the colour scheme, so I will stitch it twice.
One will be on white fabric, using blue green and purple in medium sort of shades of perle #5 and in dark shades of #8. The other on Antique White fabric in shades of coral red - light, medium, dark in #5, and medium in #8 (which is on order from Sew & So as we speak). I'm looking forward to this one!

Love all those colours MAbel, especially the ones on the right - most unusual the blue with the purple. Looking forward very much to seeing this stitch up. :D

She has the same excellent taste as her daughter. 8)

I like the colours for 'Join the Band'

It will be interesting to see just how different they'll be. 8)

Hurray, I've completed something :-)!

6 coasters for my Mum's birthday present (on the left), and 6 to sell for the building fund (on the right).
