Making progress, but it's a bit slow going as I have reached the loosely worn section of the fabric. It takes a lot more concentration to not skip or add a stitch. Fortunately a fair amount of what is remaining is the background half stitch so if I mess up it won't be too hard to hide any mistakes.

Good planning to have mostly background on the difficult bit of fabric!
He's looking good :applesauce:

I agree with Mabel, such a good plan to have the tricky looser threads under the half stitching background.

It really is fabulous and I just know it will be treasured by the intended recipient.

Lovely work.

Thank you all for your comments. It was lucky that it is the background half stitch that will cover much of the loose weave. I wish I had planned it that way. I won't have luck with the next one because of where I will be placing it, so if nothing else, I'm getting practice.

Sally, Finn looks so angry because he is often angry in the three movies (the last 3) that he is in. He is a good guy who really hates and fights the bad ones. I didn't realize how angry he looks until you commented on it.

Bad storms a few days this week gave me more time to stitch. Fortunately electric lines where I live are underground and we only had a few power "blips". Now I only have the ground Finn is standing on to finish the cross stitch and am passed the loose weave which slows me down. And then back stitch.

Started the back stitching which is going fast. Not quite as much as Master Yoda anyway.

There will be a total of 14 figures around the edges of the Afghan. My original plan was to stitch a very large design that is a Mystic Stitch pattern in the center of the Afghan but it is a really large design and will take as long to stitch as an HAED design. So I have some other ideas rolling around in my head but first have to keep on with the figures. Have to speed up though if this is going to be the Christmas present I want it to be. :x:

These figures continually remind me that for some designs back stitching is worth doing  On to the next figure which I expect to be tricky because the placement is going to be smack dab in the middle of the looser weave. I've done that before so I know it can be done, but I also know how tricky it can be, but as my sister often says "it is what it is" and the balance of the afghan will be off if I try to "cheat"

Thank you all for your comments. It really helps. And now to get going on the next character.....
