Re: 2023 The Smile for Today is...

Post by richardandtracy »

Pfft.
Over the weekend we've had another 2 day diversion where a dual carriageway-ful of traffic is ducted past our house. (And received the unwelcome news that next weekend is not the last, there are 8 additional closures into April before the end of our road is closed while it's re-routed up a steep hill, but that's by-the-by.)

For some reason our Maine Coon Ozzie seems to hold me 100% responsible for all the traffic, and refuses to acknowledge my existence when the traffic is thundering past our house. He talks to the girls & Tracy, but stalks off with his nose and tail in the air if I get anywhere near. He usually slinks, like a big cat with his tail down in a lovely big-cat fan and head below his shoulder blades, but when in a huff with me, he's determined to show it by prancing off, nose in the air, 2ft long tail straight up (except the last 3 inches which tip over to one side or the other).

Huh, cats.

Regards,

Richard.

One never knows what dangers are just around the corner. Or on the other side of the curtain.
Skye is beautiful.

One also never knows who is responsible for bringing noisy traffic close to home, but it is safe to assume that the women in the household wouldn't consider such a thing. A man? More likely since they like cars, trucks, machines etc. Ozzie is making an educated assumption, I'm sure.

Or maybe it's a case of:

"
I didn't say that it was your fault.
I just said that I'm blaming you.

I had never heard of this particular art form. I was mesmerized watching it and hope you enjoy watching it too.

Fascinating! I knew about using this technique for marbling book endpapers, but this artist opens up all sorts of avenues to explore. :applesauce:

I've made marbled paper in 'art' at school. It never once occurred to me to do anything more than random drips of colour on the water. Fascinating.

I fear a number of sub-Reddits can act as a repository for human fallibility and I'm often left wondering quite how we ever managed to leave the dark ages given the aptitude for dottiness shown.
Can be funny though.

I came across one while taking the girls to school when they were young that would have qualified had I known of the Reddit at the time. There was a road marking that said 'SOLW' across the road instead of 'SLOW'. Took me weeks of walking past it thinking something was wrong before I read what was there rather than what I thought was there.

I'm sorry, as this involves a lady having a high heel problem that looks painful for a moment or two, but I can't imaging anyone not laughing at the unexpected & dramatic consequences for the nearby gent. I know Tracy laughed like a drain.
