Re: Wedding Sampler - Follow up 8/7/2017
Yesterday was my niece's bridal shower and I gave her the Framed Sampler . The minute she opened the package she burst into tears. I have to admit she's always been on the emotional side but I loved it anyway. It was the hit of the shower. One of the women was seriously asking if she could commission me to do one for her as she would want to give it to her husband for their anniversary. I was very flattered of course, and didn't really say yes or no, but thought to myself this is one of those that I would have to be paid a chunk of bucks to do and my little experience with "commissions" is I end up with something I don't want. And I also thought of Vanessa and the times she has stitched things for friends. Doubt I'll hear from her, but it really made my day!

It is not at all surprising that your beautiful work had such an emotional greeting. I am sure everyone had a great time together.

Heart-warming story. So glad she loved it, especially after how amazing it looks and the amount of effort that went into it.
I think you are right to be dubious about taking the commission, people really don't appreciate the time & effort, and to a certain extent material cost, that goes into cross stitch. So much 'crafty' stuff is quick & easy tat knocked off in a weekend with little thought and less effort, and few appreciate that cross stitch isn't like that, particularly not the bigger projects.
Regards,
Richard
