I think there was a radio program for the Green Lantern or maybe I am thinking of the Green Hornet?????? There was an old TV show of one of them same era as the Adam West's Batman and they had a chauffeur was named Kato or Keto or some such thing??????? I am just guessing so you can ignore my ramblings. I know alot of these because the kids and hubby were into the Marvel/DC comic stories.

Everyone who guessed something to do with Green Lantern was very close.

Kilowag is apparently from the Green Lantern Corps, so he is technically a Green Lantern (I think?).

You can read more about him at the link below.

I'm currently working on L, P, and Q. Any guesses?

I finished up another 3 (L, P, and Q) this weekend. I am behind schedule but soldiering on to try to get this done before I go back in October. We shall see!

So any guesses for who they are?

L looks like Wolverine and there is an "l" in his name.

It is Wolverine! But the L is for his "real" name, Logan.

It seems to me that the "alphabet" designer is pretty tricky tossing in the real names also. Superman could be a c or k that way :tizzy:

Ok so that is weird that they are using real names........ :?

P and Q are beyond me but I still love the look of them. :applesauce: :applesauce:

I think that this is the only time they used the real name. And I think it was so that they could get Wolverine and another "W" in the same pattern. :)

P is Power Girl (from the same world as Superman, I think? not sure) and Q is Quicksilver, who is part of the X-Men.

And here is the next one I finished, V.

Since catching the stitchy bug, one of the things I have wanted to try is making my own patterns. I have a super creative SIL who was helping me come up with pattern ideas and this is the first one that I made and turned into a finished product!

I have a bumper sticker that says this, which is where she got the inspiration. I made the pillow for her since it was her idea. :)

I hope to have some other charts made up soon, time allowing. Once I have a few, I'd like to sell them online to help support this stitching habit of mine. :)

On a side note, I was greatly surprised by the number of people who did not "get" the saying. Am I wrong in thinking that most people at least recognize the name Oscar Wilde, even if they've never read anything by him? He is one of the most highly quoted people in recent(ish) history, after all. When people saw me working on this on my lunch break or wherever, they almost always asked "So who's Oscar?"

Edit: Also, I'd like to give credit to my grandmother for helping me sew the pillow parts. I'll have a blog post about the whole process soon, after I've given the pillow to my SIL.

:applesauce: :applesauce: I love the pillow! and I think that is one of the few bumper stickers that I would consider for my car (A friend once had one which said "I stop for Hobbits and Unicorns", which if I could ever find I would put on my car in a skinny minute!). Beautiful job of stitching and congrats on your first design. Given the education that kids get today, I am afraid that I am not surprised that most people didn't know who Oscar was. But this isn't the place for me to go on a :tantrum: about that. It's much nicer to :whoop: your stitching!

I'm not sure how I posted this here, but this is from the very beginning of this thread. I made this pillow last year.

Haha, I did something crazy when trying to edit the date. :tizzy:

But thank you anyway for your kind words!

Just wanted to say one thing about your education comment. Most of the people who didn't understand what I was talking about were quite a bit older than me (at least, old enough to have gone through a different system). :D Just some food for thought.

It's done!!! I have been stitching non-stop on this thing for the last couple of weeks. I love the way it turned out, but boy was I sick of stitching on it there towards the end. I can't believe I got it done with plenty of time for framing (I'm not giving it to my SIL until a little over a month from now), and time to finish up the other baby gifts. WOOOOO! :tizzy: :tizzy: :tizzy: :tizzy:

I'll be giving an up-close look at this on my next podcast, which should be up sometime this week. You can find the link to it on my blog.

I can't wait to get back to some of my other stitching WIPs and maybe even have a new start or two. Yippee! :whoop: :whoop:

Well done for the finish! It's brilliant. I love Wee Little Stitches charts. I have a whole load on my wall next to my bed, but I'd not seen this one.

Show us when you've had it framed?
