 :faint:

We are counting on the fact that with so many panels needing to be stretched and backed, that we'll not be missed if we're a week late... :x:

This is a wonderful thing! I haven't looked before because I thought it was just a map of Scotland... then today I noticed it said 'tapestry'...

This is stunning! What an amazing project! You are so talented - I wouldn't have the nerve to even dream of joining anything like this

Absolutely stunning. Brilliant. Awesome. I'm running out of superlative adjectives. I would guess that your not the only group that will be a bit late in finishing. I can't begin to imagine how this is going to look when all put together. Can't wait to see that! How long do they anticipate it will take to finish the whole tapestry?

Breathtaking... both your work and the whole endeavour. :applesauce: :applesauce: :applesauce: :applesauce: :applesauce:

When and where can we see the whole piece?

That coat is just flippin' amazing, and that's just the start of it! The bricks, the rivets, the wig, all that incredibly fine detail, the use of all those different stitches and textures... Anybody not willing to wait for this an extra week should be made to do it all themselves!

Well, the whole thing has to be completed for exhibition in SEPTEMBER. Yes, this coming September as is. It will be on display in Edinburgh at Holyrood in the Scottish Parliament, so it's all very exciting. Not sure of the date... but I'll find out. Late in the month, I'm hoping...

No chance of it being displayed any, erm, earlier? We'll probably be visiting Edinburgh in July, even if only for the day.

I'm so amazed by this whole project every time I look at this thread. I can't speak for the organizers, but I for one would be happy to wait for an extra week for such gorgeous work!

Here's another little treat of the entire panel as it was on Saturday. I particularly like the rocks around the lighthouse, and that the furnace has a fire. Not to mention that James has Newman-esque blue eyes! And what a relief to have the title done properly in Quaker stitch! (Thanks, Eilidh!) :P

Image

And there's also a closeup of the start of the little books. Naturally, even more has been done (the big book pages are in, the unicorn's horn is finished...). We're on the last push -- trying to get it done by the end of the month.
