(sorry about quality, taken with my phone)

An update on my SQ Rose. I'm trying several new things here: gridding, parking, using a hoop (I usually use q-snaps). I love love LOVE gridding. I'm still meh about parking. I like the neat and tidy way the picture unfurls, but I hate having the strings everywhere. I'm also meh about the hoop. I prefer the q-snaps.

the rose is coming along so very very nicely!! As for using a hoop, I much prefer my qsnaps over a hoop any day!! It looks like you are doing well with both the gridding and the parking!! Nice update!! :applesauce: :applesauce:

:applesauce: Looking good. I also love gridding and am not sure I would be able to do many patterns without it. You are doing so many new things at once which I am impressed with. I usually make only one change at a time. I use qsnaps on most things also, but a big hoop on my afghans and a small hoop on smaller projects.
I hope you will give us lots more updates on this. It is so pretty.

Great start! I'm all for gridding too, and I'm getting used to why parking is a good idea, and it seems to work. I won't use it often though, probably just for these BAPs.

Yeah, I don't think the parking is really working for this one because it's not square after square in neat little rows. Some of the 10x10s have two stitches in them, some have none. It IS working on Starry Night, though. So you're right, BAPs really work better :)

I've turned into a serial starter, I guess. This is page one of HAED Floral Filigree:

Here's what the finished product will look like:
http://heavenandearthdesigns.com/index. ... ts_id=4538" target="_blank

I'm stitching it 1 over 1 full cross on 28 count linen. I don't have an official rotation going with the other two, but I'm sure I'll figure something out :D

:applesauce: Beautiful start. And what a beautiful design. I forget about the filigree series. There are some very pretty designs and you have chosen one of the best, I think.

Had a look at the floss usage and was surprised it uses 9 shades! Lovely shapes in there

Thanks, everyone!

And yeah, the 9 shades surprised me, too! There's a few shades of pink that outline the various shapes. I don't really see the point, but I'm sure it will come together as it gets bigger. :thinks:

FINALLY finished page one of this pattern (http://www.scarletquince.com/pat.php?pat=RED001" target="_blank" target="_blank). I am kind of a slow stitcher and am rotating between knitting and stitching, AND this WHOLE THING is confetti, so progress is slow. I'm so happy to be done with this page so I can rotate it out and work on something that isn't pink. Or any shade of pink. *digs for an all-black project*
