Go for it!! Actually this reminds me of the types of projects you often have done. The pattern is available at 123Stitch or online from Northern Expressions1 on Etsy. Since you get immediate gratification by downloading the price is about the same as 123Stitch when you consider S&H costs. Actually for me its cheaper because then I don't have to (note have to) get other things to justify (and thereby increasing) the S&H charges.

Thanks everyone for the lovely comments!

I know I already said it.. but I really really really love this pattern!

It has rapidly reached the top of my 'must stitch' list. I'm thinking of things like spinning my own hand dyed silk for it... not sure how that would work with the speciality stitches though. Maybe overdyeing some floss would be better.

Now that the bands are getting longer it is taking more time to get them done. At least band 4 took a bit longer. The week-end plus today (so far). I am really loving it!

Now back to mini Shiver Meow Timbers. I am determined to finish page 2 before I move on to the next piece in my totally disheveled rotation.

Thanks for looking.

Band 4 is actually 3 different stitches. They are so similar and so close to each other that it gives it this amazing textured effect. I think, to be honest, it would look just as good using DMC as the HDF threads. Though I don't know how two strands of DMC would be compared to the single strand of HDF. :thinks: Maybe at a later date I will try it. The next band is plain cross stitches but after that is several specialty stitches again. Hard to resist isn't it??? Wouldn't it be fun if you did this too? not that I would ever think of suggesting that you think about adding this to your stash or worse yet to your rotation
