Well, just to confuse things I love them both, the green one seems zesty and the contrast between the white stitches and the zestiness of the Organza appeals to me. The red one is so elegant.

Thanks for the linky to Extravorganza, I had a wander around your webby too, and oh my I could go bankrupt with all the beautiful designs I would like on there.

:applesauce: :applesauce: I love them both, but I think I find something a little extra special with the red one. But I think its because in general I love red more than green. Would be interested in seeing the second design on red fabric. But wouldn't turn either one down. I love (and perhaps envy a little bit) your amazing creativity! I think stitching snowmen, snowwomen, snowflakes during a heat wave is a grand idea!

The nose was an absolute nightmare to get right! I must have been temporarily insane when designing such a pointy shape to be filled with couched metal threads...

Hmmmm :thinks: :thinks: :thinks: just thinking - next time, how about painting the fabric so the inside of his body is white, and the inside of the hat black...... :thinks: :thinks: :thinks:

I do like Frosty's nose, very carrot-y.

I was thinking maybe something to fill in the body, painting will be unusual, I look forward to seeing what you do

Oh, I won't be able to do the painting on this one - it would have to be done before any stitching. But it's a thought for a second version, if I ever stitch one. There will be some filling in of the body by means of silver chipwork, but it won't be solid (which would take forever and cost the earth!), just some shading.

Progress is slow but steady at the moment - I convinced DH that on World Embroidery Day I simply had to do some work on Frosty :-) so I added some chipwork shading.
The colours on this are a bit washed out but I photographed him in full sun in the hope of catching the sparkle a bit better.

Sneak preview - I had hoped to finish the scarf today, but I'm not sure I'll manage as my right hand seems to have got rather a knock when I fell down the stairs :-( . I'll give it a try later tonight though!

Oooooh, Mabel he's lovely. The close up really catches the sparkle of the chipwork, and I think the shading is just right, I agree it have been far too costly to have completely filled him in, he looks just right with the small amount os chipwork shading.

The scarf is really looking good too.

I do hope your hand feels better soon :bandaid:

You are supposed to walk down stairs MAbel, not fall down them. I do hope that your hand feels better soon.

Mr Snowman is the best dressed Snowman in the UK if not the World. Love all the sparkle and bling, it is gorgeous. Now rest that hand a bit please.

I'm almost regretting it (but not quite) as my hand is now very sore :-( but Frosty is finished

Unfortunately it's almost impossible to get an accurately coloured picture of him! But here are some impressions, with a close-up of the scarf as I'm rather proud of that :-)

:whoop: for Mr. Frosty!

I love him, he looks fabulous, and you have every right to be proud of him, not just his (rather spectacularly blingy) scarf.

Please rest your poorly hand, it wants to be in peak condition for next week's course.

:applesauce: :applesauce: :applesauce: for Forever Frosty he is just perfect.
