I just got 3 amazing snowman charts from our very own LadyS. They are so adorable. I have to fit them in very very soon. :snowman:

I also recieved a letter from the hospital. You will remember that in December I had a bit of a bother with health issues after my surgery. Well the bill they sent me was  way more then we could have expected. I called them to make arrangements for monthly payments (many years worth of payments :( ) and as I was talking to the finance lady she said that it seemed that with the way things happened the hospital should have given me more of a discount and I should write a letter to a certain department explaining about what had happened and the responce from the staff (espesially the lab personal) She sent me some information papers and also a few forms to fill out. Well in the post today I got a letter from the hospital and they are giving me a substancial discount more then I would have ever imagined. It is the very best thing to have happen in a long while and I am just so very very happy and greatful to this lady, I want to make her up a small gift and send it to her. Without her help we would have been burdened with this debt for so long and now we can probably pay it off by the end of the year. WOW I never would have believed this would work out so well.

Thank goodness you didn't :faint: when you saw the first bill and how wonderful that the hospital responded in the way that they did. That is something we don't usually expect from the accounting departments. I'm so glad for you that you won't be saddled with lots of medical bills. That is a great letter to get in the mail. and :snowman: :snowman: :snowman: too. Which really must have made you smile.

That is such good news Rose!

It is amazing as to how much hospitals and medical care can cost.

And congrats on getting the snowman charts. :)

Rose, that must seem like a huge burden off of your shoulders!! How very lucky you were that the finance lady was willing to go the extra steps to help get this bill whittled down for you!! That is definitely fabulous news!!! Great to get the snowmen charts too!!!

It's fantastic that the hospital came through for you, Rose!

And I have one more chart that I hope to stitch this year that is terrific, and I think you'll like it very much as well so I expect to mail that one to you at some point as well.

She delivered my Clever Baggers order today -- 7 cotton shopping bags in natural, black, navy, bottle green, and dark red. I have so many stitched models that I thought I would attach some of them to bags, and perhaps sell the bags on my site :thinks: (or use them as birthday presents :-))

what pretty colors those bags are and your idea to stitch on them is a great one. They would make lovely gifts. Useful and lovely at the same time. Perfect.

Glad the hospital gave you a discount Rose and you got pretty charts to cheer you up.

Mabel those bags are gorgeous, they would look fab with stitching on.

Posty brought me a lovely parcel from Lithuania as part of a swap to show our part of Europe to our partner. The girl who sent to me is a photographer so lots of beautiful pictures were in it

I also received my subs gifts from 2 mags. A sweet sewing box (must hide from daughter) and a tidy thing (pink and brown polka dots) perfect for keeping my WIPs together

I'm so glad you got a discount on your hospital fees Rose. It must be bad enough needing medical attention without having the worry of having to pay for it too. We are very lucky having the NHS over here. Can't wait to see your :snowman: :snowman: :snowman: too!!!

dawn0621 - I've only used it properly today when I took my girls to ballet. I had a concert last Saturday and took my Sistine Chapel with me, as I had a few hours to spare between the rehearsal and concert. I could have done with better light and magnification then, as I use a magnifying lamp at home, so I invested in this little one to carry around with me if I'm stitching 'on the move'. It takes a little getting used to, but the magnification is really good and the light is a good, pure LED light. I'd recommend it for the price.

Those are great bags, Mabel. You'll have the classiest bags around!!

I had this lot delivered this morning

They're for the Papillon SAL (yes, both of them!!!). I'll elaborate further on that thread.
