'The Ship'

Actually, what the word 'Greek' triggered was 'Hoh Toperon', the English phonetic spelling of the only ancient Greek I can remember, and it means 'The Ship'. I learnt ancient Greek for 6 weeks at school after exams at age 13, as Latin was no longer needed. Not that Latin was ever needed. And now my youngest daughter is taking her Latin GCSE exam this summer for 'fun' as it's been through a voluntary out of school club. It's deeply depressing when you realise your kids are probably a lot brighter than you are.

Regards,

Richard

Love Boat

(I took Latin in highschool and thought it was a waste of time, but because of my poor hearing, I was very bad with languages , my French sucked but the farther I went on in Latin I found it helped me immensely with the French course. As Latin is really the basis for most languages)
