I got a Saturday delivery. I never knew Canada Post delivered to residences on weekends.

It’s the Mouline Etoile threads I ordered for Christmas. So I have not opened them. (I’m not even kidding.)

I have two parcels coming from people here, and they seem to be caught in the postal system. The postal workers have been legislated back to work....but there are pickets blocking trucks.

ANother couple trips to Joann's, and took advantage of sales and cash back online. I'm waiting on fabric for the winter snowglobe and owl clock patterns, and have some coming from a wish i put on INstagram too.

A better temporary solution than either :cake: or :wine: and it all looks wonderfully interesting to stitch. Just sorry you are in this position.

@Roland: Hide that package!!

Dawn, I hope that stash helps you to feel better soon.

Roland, oohh Mouline Etoile, I am considering using it too for my next large project, in the meantime patience, the Big Day is not too far away.

For stitching later next year I could not resist this:

The colours are so pretty and should be just right for stitching in the new year.

Dammit, the thumbnail still won't work for me - sorry for the large size

Currently, waiting for 3 with tracking. One started on the west coast, traveled to a city north of me, a city east of me, a city west of me. :?

And though the package from you was mailed earlier, Mabel’s didn’t have as far to travel. :D

It’s here! It’s here! :whoop:  :whoop:

Thank you so much Sally.

This is why I started cross stitching. For these gorgeous colours. I must show some restraint and finish the mouse stocking I’m working on. But I cannot wait to dig into this and my new sparkly threads.

In one of my recent WOCS mags the competition included a lovely quirky Wrendale called Christmas Donkey. Dear Helene helped me enter it and she did too but neither of us won :( However she bought it and sent it to me as a Christmas gift Bless her big generous heart.

so here is Wonky Donkey aka Christmsa Donkey, with my favourite birds. Isn't he cute. I am trying hard not to start him til the important 18th birthday gift is done. :x:

Sally, he looks philosophically minded. The birds are everybody's favourite, I am sure. Well done, Helene- only another stitcher knows exactly what to give as a Christmas present for it to be enjoyed to bits.

Well, it hasn't been delivered yet, but eldest and DIL gave me Silk Mill's 32-shade card - which means I get to choose 32 colours of which they send generous samples so you can see the colours in real life. Then based on that I may have a splash in the new year, or whenever their next sale is :-) !

Only ordered, not arrived yet! Retail therapy because the simple bug I thought I had is beginning to look a lot like flu :-(
When I manage to stitch at all it's only small, very uncomplicated things, but I can look at these and imagine stitching them in the new year!
They are kits by Sarah Homfray who was one of the tutors at the medieval embroidery course.

I hope that you don't have the flu. Truly hope you feel better soon and have a healthy New Year! Those kits certainly can be a motivator for getting well quickly. I am looking forward to seeing them in progress.
