Fccs, that is neat that you stayed at the Stanley Hotel. I hope you were able to sleep ok with all the ghosts they have there.
:-) I saw no ghosts; my friend saw something in one of her photos.

Is it the Overlook Hotel?
:whoop: :whoop: :whoop: Yes it is the Overlook.
fccs wrote: Tue Mar 22, 2022 5:10 pm I've stayed at the Stanley Hotel, where Stephen King received his inspiration to write The Shining. I had never seen the movie until my friend and I stayed there, but it plays in every room on a continuous loop 24/7. I added my own narration to most of it and my friend said she will never be able to watch it the same again. (We might have had a couple cocktails before watching. :wine:  )
That’s awesome that you stayed there.

I used to be a member of SK’s official forum. Every few years they would plan a get together. The last one was at the Stanley Hotel. The first was in Bangor Main. One of the first nights Stephen and Tabitha surprised them by dropping in.
KittyZ wrote: Wed Mar 23, 2022 12:46 am Hi, I just joined the forum and I have to agree with Garnet that I think it is the Overlook Hotel from the Shining.
I thought it might be it once I saw you posted the bloody elevators. Do you plan to stitch the creepy twin girls too?
Roland, is this an original design you made? I'm looking forward to seeing what scenes fill the other rooms. (but I will admit I am also a little afraid too)

You are doing a great job with this mysterious stitching! Your Zelda looks great too!

Welcome to the forum.

This is a stitch along on Facebook, design is by Robin Allen. I will now add a link to the group for anyone that wants to join. It’s free.

Roland thank you for the link, I won't have time to stitch such a big project right now but I will enjoy seeing what new things pop up in your stitching!
I have looked at Stephen King's forum from time to time mostly to see what new things he has come up with.
I am what he refers to as one of his "Constant Readers" and I try to keep up with reading all of his books as they come out.
I have not been to the Stanley hotel, but I did stop by his house in Bangor, Maine with my husband a few years ago and take some photos by his spiderweb gate. ( I hope I didn't go too far off topic here, I look forward to seeing more of this piece stitched!)

I am finished the frame of the Overlook. Now, I have to wait for the next room pattern to drop, which will be on the first of April.

The Overlook (I love that we can now call it by name lol) and Zelda are both progressing very nicely.

I agree and am wondering what the other rooms will be filled with as you move on.

I am wondering what the other rooms will be filled with too, there has to be the twin girls, maybe the child on the bicycle and obviously the face through the door "here's Johnny", but as for the rest I'm stumped.

Zelda is coming along so well too, so colourful.

Both pieces are so beautifully stitched.

:applesauce: :applesauce: :applesauce: :applesauce:

Edit: I swear I typed "child" on this tablet, and the blooming thing changed it to cold, and flipping 'eck it's done it again. Been back and altered it again, oh for goodness sake, it may need a reset. Sorry for ranting on your thread Roland.

I’m guessing there will also be the bar, the woman in the bathtub, Danny on his trike, maybe the room with the CB.

Both Zelda and the Overlook are looking great!
One of the rooms may also feature a typewriter and the words "All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy".
Maybe Redrum will show up on a wall too?
The hedge maze has grown, I can't wait to see what the next room will hold! :applesauce:
