Gotta love Ozzie and Rosey! Cats...

Carole, we don't have a cat flap. We have no idea how many live mice he'd bring in when we were out. We have plenty of outbuildings for the cats to go into to get out of the rain when we're out. However, at the moment it's rare for the house to be completely empty (with at least one of us working from home most week days), so there's always a willing cat slave to open the door.

Has anyone heard from Sally Squirrel recently? When I started coming on the Forum a bit more again I noticed she hadn't been on for some months. I emailed her a few weeks ago but haven't had any reply.

I sent an email in November and Jenny (her daughter) replied that she had gone through Sally's emails and was sending some that Sally had replied to but never sent. I got one more and then haven't heard from her. I sent one right after New Year's and heard nothing back. I was hoping that Jenny might reply to let me know what has been happening but I haven't heard, and I don't have any idea as to what has happened. That is the part about our "virtual" friendships that is difficult for me. Our friendships are very real in how I feel about y'all, but it is difficult when people "disappear". If anyone has heard back from Sally I would love to hear also.

If her daughter has been going through her emails for her that sounds as though perhaps she is in care? Oh dear, as you say it is a sad part of our "virtual" friendship that we can't always see what happens to our friends

As we get older things become harder and that includes using computers. The fact that she had written a few Email responses but had forgotten to hit the send button tells us she is finding them confusing and I note she has not visited the forum since June 2022. We miss her

Yes, my last few emails from Sally were from the care home she had moved to, which she seemed pleased with. She did say she was slowing down, as most of us will (or have already to some extent).

Thanks for that reminder Jo - it does sounds as though the care she needs now is more far-reaching then it was back then. I just hope that she is comfortable and well-looked after and happy.

Been on a 2 day Zoom training course. All attendee's except me were joining from home. And, yes, one cat joined the call this morning, just to show there's no escape from our masters.

Only one cat joined in on the Zoom meeting?

Back in 2020 or 2021, one of the tv news reporters here was doing a Zoom interview from her home. As she was on the three way Zoom from her kitchen area, her husband walked into the kitchen twice. He was wearing a unicorn costume for a virtual costume party he was involved in. She tried to keep it together, but failed. It's priceless.

I need to keep better track of things.

I got a call today from the chiropractor’s office at 3:35 pm asking if I was coming in for my appointment which was at 3:30. I thought it was tomorrow. She’s off the rest of the week, and I’m not available this week. So, it’ll be 2 weeks between appointments, which is not good.

They are not charging me for a missed appointment, which I’m very pleased about.
