Bonus projects for my course students as some of them are getting on much more quickly than I'd expected
- and my own version of it which I did some time ago.

I loved that Red Robin when I saw him on your site.
I haven't stitched it because when I printed it off it came out more that Life Size!!
I shall have to try again!

I just realised I gave the pattern only as a download - usually I make it part of a sheet so it prints at the right size
- I will go and do that now, and let you know when it's up!

Wendy (and anyone else who would like to have a go at the robin), I've changed the download so it is now a sheet with the robin in two usable sizes - hope that helps! You can find him
here.

Having a bit of fun with a spare robin - as you can see I'm not going for naturalism

Fun is also what it's about.

And just because it looks so good, doesn't mean it can't be fun too!

Wendy, I think that's a brilliant idea! (Is that your stitchy bug digging you in the ribs, I wonder?)

Just a little more done on the robin; I'm planning to use a herringbone variation for his body which I learnt for my Canvaswork, but not sure what the effect will be!

It's battlement couching - I love that stitch, it came in my Jacobean piece as well (but I had to be much more accurate then
) and also in the Tree of Life SAL (that one was much more open).

Thanks Mabel. I should have remembered from the SAL. Amazing, though how different a stitch can look depending on how you configure it.
