Great job on the Madonna and the quilt piece is totally fun.

Sorry you did not win the competition; I think your piece is wonderful.

It is all so beautiful. But my favourite, has to be the Stitch sampler- Oh my just stunning. That Cetic knot on the Afghan i like too. I use to make bracelets with delica beads, (in Peyote stitch) the frame bordering around your knot, I made a very similar bracelet. It just reminded me of it. I was wearing it when I saw the design, nearly fell out of my chair lol.

I have finished another big-ish project. My principal in school has asked me to stitch a sampler for him with this text, and he said he would pay me. He chose the colours also. I was working on it all summer, in rotation with the competition piece, and finally finished it.

The photo is not very good, sorry, I took it in the evening, so that I could give the embroidery to him in the morning. He liked it a lot and was so very happy. :) I will post another photo when he has it framed.

If anyone is interested, the pattern is for sale, look in the Trade or Sell section.

Here is something I have been stitching in the past few weeks. It is almost done, I just need to add a few small things here or there.

I have stitched this for Lizi, who is a 5-year old lovely little girl, my friends daughter. She asked me to embroider something for her that has tulips and a rainbow and the sun and rain... so I came up with this. It is put together from freebies mostly. I was just improvising, adding a few more things here, another one there... The rainbow I actually draw with the water erasable pen, just one line, then followed it with the first colour and then the rest.

I thought I will bring this thread back to life, although I haven't been doing much stitching lately, apart from some minis, I mainly sew.
Anyway, I was sick last week, was at home with a nasty virus. You know the kind when your head is too heavy to do anything, reading or following a counted pattern felt too hard. So I took out some felt, drew some simple patterns (copied them from a cushion embroidered by my mum) and stitched. I didn't need to think, just followed the lines.

Here is the result. They will be made into Christmas decorations.
