Update.....

Post by sammy_v »

Hi all,

Well on friday the 5th nov it was bonfire nite not only that it was mine and lees 10th year anniversary of being together and we also got the keys to our very first home together!!! We come down on the friday and stripped the living room, main bedroom and the spare room (which still needs steaming).

On the Saturday we moved in (also on this day i fell out of a taxi, the car had a wire sticking out from the back to the front and i went flyin over it!! hurt my right knee pretty bad, bruised insteatly, hurt my other knee and both arms, im just glad it was me and not an older person or someone who borken bones easily. I went falling right into the middle of the road, luckly no cars was coming) i stayed at his parents packing while they did all the heavy lugging about (lee, his dad and our best friend Mark). We started to paint on Sunday me, my sister, lee and mark, we just painted the living room we got 2 huge walls done. Then sunday me n lee painted another wall as well as second coated walls and we ran out of paint........could we find this pain my sister had given us??? nooooooooo. we went around everywhere we could think off all the big stores and all the little ones and lees dad suggested this one shop and thank goodness they said they could order it in. I was so releived.

We had a rest on monday and tues started to sore things out like a few drawers n things, sorted the kitchen out and went shopping for things we needed. On wednesday me and lee, mainly lee painted the front bedroom and i glossed my mirror frame that was left here. Thursday i was due to go into hospital for my op on my lower back.

I went into hospitla at 7:30am and was down in theater by 12:00pm. Normally when i wake up from being put under im really groggy and narky when i wake up but this time i was so chatty i was talking to anyone that would talk to me lol. I was so high it was unreal. I was in horrid pain as soon as i woke up and was bursting to go to the toilet. They asked me to wait till i got to the ward i was fine with that. I get to the ward and they tried me with a bed pan and there was no way it was going to happen no matter how hard they tried , so i said i will get up and go to the toilet as it was right next to my bed. I neded help getting there n getting back to bed but it was all good. There was lots of blood about and stuff but that didnt take to long to slow down n stop kinda thing. I had a goodish nite, eaten my dinner and was drinking alot. I had 2 and a halkf jugs in 24 hours and i went to the toilet in total 20 times in 24 hours.

Friday they changed my dressing tol d me it was a big wound, told me i would have to rest. Im taking 100mg of tramadol every 4 hours but there only touching my pain for like 2 hours each time so im at the docs in the morning to see if i can top up with anything else just to knock the stringing and aching ron the head really. A consultant came to see me and asked if i felt well enough to go home and of course i said yes lol. So friday i was discharged.

On Saturday a wound specialist nurse came out to see me and said my wound measures 5cms deep at the very bottom and the the highest part is 4cm and its 5.1cms long .WOW big wound this is the biggest they have gone and i have to tell u the packing wasnt/isnt as bad as it use to be i think im use to it lol. I have to have a bath/soak everyday bare weekends as the nurse can never give a time on when she will be out but during the week i got to a clinic which is 5 mins away from me to get it change so i can bathe then. Its very sore and im very worn out. Just got to takae each day as it comes really and keep it clean and allow it to heal.

Cant wait for it to start healing so i can make way on more thingsin the house and i can sort out my craft corner and dining room etc. I love it here, i feel so at home. I love it just being me and lee and i lcant thank enough the people that have helpped us!! Our best freind has the week off this week and has been staying here keeping me anad lee company hehe and playing won the comp with lee.

Think this is all the news i have....oh i do have to tell u what my neice did, she came to see me on monday i think it was after my op and her mummy told her i wasnt well and i had a huge bandage one. She asked to see it and said 'ohhhhhhhh wow auntie sam thats a huge plaster' lol she them got her stethoscope out and listend to my chest and give me some medicine which is going to make me better. Thanks all for reading hope ur all well and sorrt i was missing agin but im sure u understand after reading this. xxxxxxxxx

Wow, I am exhausted just reading this. What a busy time. So sorry about your fall but with the surgery you probably don't even feel that. Hope you get some more meds for your pains (and that they work). :balloons: Feel better soon.

Wish you a speedy recovery, Sammy, but please, take it easy and don't try to hurry things. Everething will be sorted out sooner or later but you should get better first!

Thank you all so much for the congratulations and well wishes.

Lee is working so hard bless him, he has done alot of work on the house and wont let me lift a finger. But i have to admit i have over done it this week with going out shopping etc so i have been told off by a few people and been told to rest. My back has been leaking alot so ive been told to rest by my nurses to (cant hide anything). I have now got pain killers to take on top of my tramadol and so far so good (thank goodness).

I have a busy week ahead of me, as i have to go for a medical on wednesday, got a hospital appointment on thursday to see someone about my bladder and i have an appointment on friday to have my wisdom teeth out, another tooth and some fillings done. So i will be resting to the best i can. My also be at a funeral on thursday as my friend has just lost her mum on tuesday.

*hugs* *hugs*
