HAED Storykeep - Oriental Courage - Photo 16th Dec 2013

So I've finally started on my first HAED, it's the first storykeep I'm going to do. Really it's a test piece to see how well I get on with the stitch count and size before starting on my big HAED sometime in the future.

I'm stitching on 25 count lugana 1 over 1. I did start doing 2 over 1 after preferring the coverage of that on my test 10x10 squares, but in reality stitching it was just too hard so I frogged the start and did it again in 1 over 1.

So far I'm finding it difficult to secure my thread once I reach the end - stitching with just 1 thread means it's that more difficult to get under the previous stitches. Also means no loop start so confetti is going to be a faff! Happily this design has some lovely large blocks of 1 colour so I'm hoping it will stitch up quite fast.

It's quite nice stitching huge blocks of colour! No thinking to do
