I thought I'd share with this group that a new FREE chart has been posted on the HAED site. It's Foxglove Ball by Aimee Stewart. With all the HAEDs I already have, both WIPs and waiting in my stash, I doubt I'll stitch this one. However, if anyone is just thinking about HAEDs, the freebies are worth a look! Theresa

It was a wonderful bingo. I had fun catching up on all of the information and also finding out how many books we all have in common. Plus it is always fun to see more beautiful patterns.
Now I will be excited for the next one.

I have a question for Theresa if she sees this. I have also started listening to The Game of Thrones on my iPod but am having trouble getting into it. Not sure if it is the narrator, or I am just not focusing. I love Science Fiction/Fantasy so I was wondering if you also had any trouble in the beginning? I think I have listened to the prologue 6 times (in the car which may be why I am distracted a bit, but that is usually not a problem) and drift off into other thoughts. I plan to stick with it for a while, but sometimes an audio version just doesnt' click.
Might have to move to Terry Brooks instead. I love the Shannara series.

I have major problems with audio books because I also wander off into other thoughts.

Thank you Theresa for letting us know there's a new freebie, I must say though, I'm not too fond of the charts they put up in the freebie section.

LadyS - I've never stitched any of the freebies, either, but put it out there in case anyone was interested.

Carole - I did find The Game of Thrones a bit tough to get into. I started playing it once with the same result as you - drifting into other thoughts instead of paying attention. Finally I did get through the beginning and it finally started to sink in. I'm not far into it, but will get in at least an hour on my drive today and see how it goes.

I do have to say, even reading the first couple chapters in GoT are a bit hard to get into, but once you get the first plot point it completely draws you in. Book 2 has got me even more hooked!

EDIT: We definitely should have (if we don';t have one forgotten around already) a book discussion in General, or a book club, or something to that effect.

Congrats Dana!!

Carole, I very, VERY, strongly recommend reading the Game of Thrones book (that first one).. I have tried listening to books and am one of those who is very easily distracted.

I picked up the first book around 10 years ago, and at the time had reached a point in my reading hobby of being unable to find anything really good that I could sink my teeth into. I had become a bit jaded, and most things I'd tried were too sappy, to 'magicky', too contrived, too forced. GRRM saved me from that, and I know it sounds silly, but his books were realistic, gritty, humorous, and incredibly believable. Very immersive, to me. I kind of think you might get into it better if you stick your nose in it :)
