Had not worked on this in ages as i originally intended it to be a retirement gift for my mum last March but she decided to stay on and it got left at the bottom of the pile.
Recently she announced she was going to finish next year and i still did not get it out thinking yeah yeah when she came round one day and said she had her finishing date and its 9 weeks after xmas YIKES.
Got to get teh needle glowing over the next few weeks but feel it is doable as there is approx 1/4 of the whole left and very little back stitch overall thank goodness for small mercies lol

If you need encouragement or a :poke: come right here and we will be more than glad to motivate you. Thought you are so close now, it should be fun to stitch with the end in sight.

ok well you see in the main picture 3 posts back all that straw colour in the middle of the work? yep you guessed it ran out of thread and upon using the new skein found it to be totally different shade, I tried several ways to match/blend threads begging spare skeins off ladies at my sewing group all to no avail EVERYTHING stuck out like a sore thumb, I ended up undoing approx 1000 stitches and buying 2 new skeins together which still looked different to each other so i redid that and all the rest by blending a thread from each skein!

Anyway slogged away at it through gritted teeth as i must say i was left feeling VERY disheartened but it's done and back from the framers all ready for moms retirement/birthday next week fingers crossed it goes down well :)

I agree. It's beautiful and wouldn't have known about any problems with the threads if you hadn't said a thing. Your mom is going to love it!
