DONE!! HAED Cinderella Mar 5, 2015 Page 9

Post by LastingAllure »

Well I have finally started my project so far! I am stitching her on 18 count white Aida and its coming along nicely. Here is the picture of the design:

Image

My fabric was a tad small so I trimmed off a couple rows on the bottom of the pattern and going to trim a little off of the top as well. I am also probably going to just go to where the bench ends but I have enough fabric that I can finish the entire design if I choose to!

I will post a photo once I feel there is enough to show lol. The first page (May I add a very tiny first page!) is close to being complete. I just need to find a few colors in the stash and finish it.

I am contemplating if I want to use some blending filament in the swirl stuff that I assume is transforming her dress. What are your thoughts on that?

The next page I plan on working on starts working on the dress!! I am pumped for that lol.

Anywho wish me luck on this new adventure. I plan on rotating between her and some UFOs that need completing.

Lovely design and we will love to see your start. If you think adding blending filament will make it sparkle a bit more that is up to you. I like to throw some in now and then. I usually add one strand to two strands of floss because I like the subtle sparkle, but others here add lots more. I think you are going to have a lot of fun stitching this one.

Very cool pattern and blending filament sounds like a great idea to help get some sparkle.

This is such a gorgeous chart, you have an amazing friend to part with it for you! Extra sparkles always sound good to me - does it have an kreinik already in the chart?

I know she is a sweetheart lol!

And nope it doesn't have any Kreinik in it so I am thinking I will add some especially in the magical stuff surrounding her.

I agree that it will be great to add some sparkle to the swirly bits. I also think it's a great idea to focus on cinderella as there seems to be a lot of wall and grass in the design.

She looks lovely though. :D

Oh, wow! She is one of the most beautiful Cinderellas I have ever seen. You are so lucky.
Adding sparkles? Definately! You can't have magic happening without sparkles!!
I also think it's a good idea to leave out the area to the one side of the bench. It looks a bit superfluous to me.

I got page 1 done today  I found all my colors when I was putting my mermaid stash away! Only missing about 5 colors that I plan on raiding later on today. Oh!! And I also found in the depths of the storage/craft room a Q-Snap frame!! Sure makes working on this so much easier! Here is the progress so far:

Image

Its the bottom right corner. It looks darker than the painting but when you stand back and look it is actually very similar to the original!

I am debating on working on the second page tomorrow or if I should take a day off and clean up a bit :ratherbe: ...I think we all know what will end up winning in the end lol.

:applesauce: great start. I love this design. I am looking forward to your updates. That dress is going to be magnificent. Have you decided to add the sparkly thread? or waiting to see how it develops? In a contest between stitching and cleaning - I know what would be the easy winner in my house.
