Amanda's Starry Night (updated 4/13/13)

Post by amandadawn »

Well, I just finished another page of this Starry Night project last night, so I thought now is as good a time as ever to post a picture of my progress! How does SAL work- do we post progress at specific times during the month?

This is on 18 count aida....I think. I started it so long ago that I honestly don't remember, and it's the first project I've ever done where I had to buy the fabric myself (i.e., it didn't come in a kit). The chart says that when it's done it'll be 19.2 inches by 15.2 inches.

Image
Excuse the pencil, I think I put that there for scale.

Image
A detail shot- I had to use my hand to block the light, it was making a glare :)

ETA: Sorry the pics are so big- I'm still trying to figure out how to work out this posting pictures thing...

The pics look fine. and :applesauce: for your piece. It is looking beautiful. You can post as often as you like. We love to see pics of progress and there is no requirement as to how many updates you want. If I'm needing encouragement I might post a bit more often. Now that I have decided on a 10 to 15 hr rotation (had to add 5 hrs because for some projects it takes me the extra 5 to stop stitching on one and move to the next  ) I plan on posting after each rotation. One suggestion I have is that you bookmark your own thread so it is easier to find when you want to do an update. Especially if you plan on updating only when you have completed a page or once a month. I hope you will keep updating though. This is one of my favorite designs.

How I love this painting so much. I enjoy it even moreso in cross stitch, and you're doing an amazing job with it. And we are all addicted to pictures here, so whenever you want to put them up is fine with us.

Beautiful work! There are quite a few of us stitching different versions of this one (I'm stitching the "with Tardis" version - but haven't picked it up since Aug 2011, soon to be remedied!) so we know how difficult all that confetti can be! Look forward to seeing more updates!

There is, and the one Amanda is stitching looks fantastic! I think you'd have to be extra brave to stitch a second Starry Night

Starry Night with Tardis was charted by a lovely talented member of our forum - skitzzzzz. Here is the thread telling the story and here is Talenaya's SAL, I think she is the forum member the furthest along on this piece!

:applesauce: Really really amazing and gorgeous. :applesauce: :applesauce:

Stick with it and keep posting updates so we can cheer you on and it will soon be done.

I post updates at all sorts of odd times. There will hopefully be another later today when I have finished Lady Rose's horrible hair/flowers/ribbons. Just post whenever you want to

I've also just started working on a smaller Scarlet Quince piece called Rose Centifolia Anglica Ruba:

Image

I think I'll just work on this when I'm getting tired of staring at Starry Night. Which, after like three years, is often these days. Is there a way I can change my subject line to "Amanda's Projects" instead of "Amanda's SQ Starry Night"? I don't want to start another thread for this project as well... :D

   what a beautiful rose!! I can't wait to see your updates on this one. As for changing the title of this topic, just go to the original post you made, and you should see an edit button near the bottom right of your 1st post, click on that and you can make your editing there, just edit the subject line. I hope that makes sense
