Planning to get married in 2 or more years?!?

How is this possible....?

I met my wife, three weeks later we were engaged. Then there was the unbearably long engagement; All 7 months of it - 23 years later I still have no idea how we survived so long living apart after meeting. We had our first daughter's name decided 4 months before getting married, which was fractionally 8 years before she arrived. Fortunately we didn't have boys, as neither of us was very happy with the few boys names we could live with.

Regards,

Richard

You are making great progress, your stitching is super neat, I hope you make your deadline your niece is very lucky its a gorgeous picture :applesauce:
I have told my children they can have my stitching as heirlooms because I like doing large designs and I've no idea when I'll actually complete one!

Excellent progress! And I like how it managed to sneak its way back into rotation before another piece. :) Glad Laverne is still up to her usual antics.

Waiting until they are done with Grad School. And as far as living arrangements go....

My rotation is back to the "whoever or whichever makes the most noise gets the most attention" Which is my excuse for why some projects are sorely neglected. They must need assertiveness training

The last half of page 4 went pretty quickly. A little over 2 weeks! The stone wall behind the dancer doesn't have a lot of confetti, and only used 15 colors. For a whole half page of an HAED. I don't find it boring (but that may be because I'm going to return to the all black pages of "Burden", as it is great for traveling) though. One more page + one column and the top row will be finished. I expect those will go fairly quickly also because there are lots of big blocks of color there also.

Laverne has taken to sitting on my left leg when I'm stitching. Often that is because Shirley is in my lap, but balancing on a leg or arm chair has always been one of Laverne's favorite perches. I guess she can supervise the stitching better that way, than curling up underneath it on my lap. Besides the back of the piece isn't nearly as pretty to look at.

Here is the 2nd half of page 4

Taking Burden and black thread with me and Plum Pudding to start. I'm curious if I get anything but black stitches done while waiting in airports and on the plane.

Thanks for looking!

:whoop: :whoop: Fabulous update on this one and your lovely supervisors have done a great job of making sure you are on track with this lovely one.

It is always great to see the Ladies again as well as your lovely stitching. Love the idea of taking the boring black with you and hope you get it all done before you get home. :D :x:

Carole,

I think you are stitching it up beautifully and the effort you have put in is obvious.

I am afraid I have a 'But', though. And it's a bit of a biggie. However, the 'But' is none of your making.
Sorry. I'll stop being obscure.
If you look at the original image on page 1, and compare it with the latest image of your stitching. Look in the background colours of the rendered doorway. I cannot see patches of pink or patches of dark blue in the original image, but I can in the stitching. I have asked myself 'Why?', and the only conclusion I can come up with is that the conversion isn't as good as it could be and HaED are not displaying the converted image when selling the chart. This is a bit disappointing and rather misleading, and I feel your work and effort deserves more, much more, from the chart maker. I know it's possible to get a better conversion, and not necessarily by going silly with the number of colours - dithering can be used, yet doesn't seem to have been.

I love what you have done, but feel you have been slightly let down by the chart maker. For no more effort on your part (frankly, I don't think it's possible to put in more effort!), the picture could have been even better. You deserve better from the chart for the quality of work you are putting in.

Regards,

Richard.
