I have used the loop method with three strands, too. It means one strand is half as long as the other, and you still have an end to hide beneath the stitches, but there is no way of the thread getting lose.

I have to use 2 stands of 2 diff colours on one half of a adia square and then another 2 differing colours on the other half to make it a full one of two 4 diff colours

Ive no idea when im going to be doing lol.
