I seem to remember being on here before some time ago but registered earlier and it let me have my choice of username so perhaps I wasn't!
I've done cross stitch ever since my mother in law taught me about 10 years ago now. I've not done much for ages and then last night, a friend gave me an absolute pile of charts, threads, fabric etc as due to health problems she's unable to x stitch any more and it's made me want to pull my finger out as it were and get back into it.
Looking forward to getting to know you all and talking x stitch!

I'm sorry to hear that your friend can no longer stitch and what a wonderful gift she gave you. Sounds like her stitchy bug came with her stash. I'm looking forward to seeing your work. Amongst the pile of goodies my friend gave me was a picture, almost finished. I'm going to try and find the threads and see about finishing it for her and seeing if she wants it back to frame.
Welcome to the forum! And wow, that sounds about like what happened with my mom and I. I was given all her stitchy stash because she can't do it any more herself.
I think it's a wonderful idea to try and finish the project for her so she can frame it on her wall. I think that will make her really happy.

Hello, welcome from Newcastle, Australia. How sad that your friend has had to give up stitching, I don't quite know what I will do if that day ever comes. I'm hoping to move into an aged care facility soon and am having to sort through my stash and cull it, very difficult to decide what to keep and what to sell or give away.
